Montana Teen Retreat

August 8 – 12, 2026

Bonanza Creek is proud and honored to host a retreat just for Montana girls – an experience started 3 years ago thanks to the vision of Sheila Hamlen, an enterprising teen from White Sulphur Springs.

Since then, we’ve welcomed some truly remarkable young women, full of grit, honesty, and heart — each with the courage to look deeply at their life and move forward with confidence and self love.

Life isn’t always easy for teens. Here at the ranch, girls find encouragement, support, and room to breathe. They discover who they are and why it matters—building self esteem, leadership, and healthy boundaries along the way.

And of course, there’s plenty of fun, adventure, laughter, and good food. But more than that, there’s connection—between new friends, with the horses, and within themselves—that makes this experience something truly special.

This retreat is led by Sheila Hamlen, who is now a college student at Rocky Mountain College, coached by Alli Caraveo of Restorative Strides, who has positive energy and a big heart for these girls, and June Voldseth of True Grit and Grace Coaching who finds this to be one of her favorite retreats. We’re also blessed to have Pastor Wenda Fry, who brings laughter, wisdom, and faith to the group. There are many amazing volunteers who have stepped up, and we’re deeply grateful for each one of them.

This retreat is open to Montana high school girls, including those who are homeschooled, in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, and who have an interest in learning more about themselves and gaining new life skills.

Here’s what one of this year’s campers had to say:

“This camp is so much fun and it’s definitely worth attending. You’ll make bonds with new people, learn things about yourself, and gain valuable skills. The memories I made here are ones I’ll carry with me. The activities are really fun, and it’s a beautiful place…”  KC

We’ll be welcoming 8–10 girls to join us for this meaningful experience. If you know a teen who would be a great fit, email us at bonanzacreekmontana@gmail.com, and we’ll send you an application form.

There is no charge as it is sponsored by Montana Horsepower, a 501c3 – only a $25 entrance fee.
