Guests can fly into one of three Montana airports – Bozeman, Billings, or Great Falls. Rental cars are available from all three airports and the drive from each is spectacular and very different, giving you different perspectives on Montana. We also offer Airport Pick Up from Bozeman or Billings for $200 round trip per group of four.

The drive is about 100 miles but might take you close to 2 hours.  Don’t leave town without stopping at Murdochs which has a great selection of western wear and gear and also fueling up as there are no nearby gas stations. There are a couple of routes from Bozeman, but we recommend going through Bridger Canyon. Leaving the airport, take 1st left onto Frontage Road for approx 7 miles. Frontage road turns into North 7th ( Murdoch’s is on this road on your right). Shortly after Murdochs, turn left on to Griffin Drive for .7 miles.Turn left onto MT-86 (aka Bridger Canyon Road) which will take you through the spectacular Bridger Canyon. Stay on this road for approx 36 miles (when you reach a Y in the road, follow the left road), Turn left onto US-89 at the T and stay on this road for about 25 miles. You will pass a small town called Ringling, about 4 miles after Ringling you’ll turn right onto MT-294 and go 15 miles to Lennep, Watch for mile marker 15, where you’ll turn left. Lennep only has a few houses, a Church and a school. Follow the gravel road past the church for 6 miles. Watch for Bonanza Creek signs.

The drive is about two hours (140 miles)From Billings Logan Airport, go West on  Terminal Circle, keep right and continue until you are at the exit for MT-3.  Stay on this road for approx 44 miles. When you come to a “T” turn left onto US HIGHWAY 12 continue on this road for about 70 miles. This road will take you through a town called Harlowton where you might want to stop at Ray’s Western Wear for some good shopping. Also, there are no gas stations for 40 miles in either direction from Lennep so you might want to gas up in Harlowton. At approximately 70 miles you will want to turn left on to County HWY 294 (State Highway 294) stay on this road for 2 miles. Turn right and stay on this road for approximately 10 miles. The Lennep turn off will be just after the Cemetery. Turn right and you are in Lennep. It is a very small town with few houses, a Church and a school.  Follow the gravel road past the church for 6 miles. Watch for Bonanza Creek signs.

The drive is about two hours fifteen minutes (150 miles). Before you leave Great Falls, make sure to visit the Falls and the fabulous CM Russell museum featuring the work of famous western artist Charles M Russell. You’ll leave Great Falls on MT-3S/US-89. About 20 miles down the road US-89 veers to the right and you’ll follow and drive through a portion of the beautiful Lewis & Clark National Forest. You’ll follow signs for US-89S and White Sulpher Springs. Once past White Sulpher Springs, you’ll follow signs for US-89S and Livingston. You’ll then turn left onto M-294 and go 15 miles to Lennep, where you’ll turn left. Follow the gravel road past the church for 6 miles. Watch for Bonanza Creek signs.

WEATHER – July and August tend to be days of sunshine at 80—85 degrees F and little to no humidity and cooler evenings.   June and September are cooler and unpredictable with possible moisture.  June has beautiful wildflowers and lots of green grass. September offers gorgeous autumn days with those wonderful crisp cool evenings.  You are in the mountains of Montana so come prepared for change as you might get a bit of everything in one week or one day.  You can check for Martinsdale MT before packing.

JET LAG –  We recommend anyone coming from overseas to arrive in America a few days early to get used to our time schedule and enable you to enjoy your time on the ranch and be well rested.
